5.INSTALLATION

5.1.Machine positioning

Before any work, we must make sure that the machine is properly aligned and does not oscillate at any of its ends. In this case, it must be supported to prevent movement. To ensure that it is correctly level, a spirit level must be used. This check must be carried out both longitudinally and transversely.
nivel-de-burbuja

Poor levelling of the machine can cause unwanted vibrations and premature wear of the linear guides.

peligro

NOTE: The data that appear in the different images are for example purposes only. Each type of tool has its recommended data and the sharpening professional must know them.

Emergency stop

This is the red button located at the bottom right, in the second to last row of buttons. In the event of a fault in use or a dangerous situation being created, it allows the automatic disconnection of the machine.

It should not be used unless it is strictly necessary.

Once used, the machine must be pulled to return to its initial position.
peligro

CAUTION: Under no circumstances should this control be modified or tampered with, as this automatically puts the operator and people around him at risk of serious injury.

Sharpening operation

To start the sharpening process, you must first make sure that the emergency stop button is not activated.
The two types of modes in which it can operate are STOP MODE and START MODE.

DANGER: never manipulate the buttons on the control panel while changing the grinding wheel: risk of very serious injuries.
peligro

CAUTION: before starting the grinding wheel we must make sure that it is well secured to the shaft where it is located and that NO ONE is manipulating the area where it turns. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN THE GRINDING WHEEL BE STARTED WHILE SOMEONE IS HANDLING IT.

6.1. Machine introduction

6.2. Switching on and referencing

Switch on the machine with the power selector in the ON position, deactivate the emergency stop if it is active.

The machine screen will turn on and the green traffic light will also turn on.

Check that no axis will collide with the grinding wheel to be referenced.

Then close the cabinet and press the START button and follow the instructions on the screen.

IMPORTANT: Do not open the cabinet while the machine is referencing. In case of accidentally opening it, turn off the machine again and repeat the process.

Once the machine has finished referencing it is ready to work.

8. MAINTENANCE

8.1. Preventive maintenance

The maintenance of the ELITE JVC 700 sharpeners is very simple but at the same time important.

It consists of the following:

  1. Cleaning the machine guides: guides of the blade holder and the axis of the grinding wheel.
  2. Cleaning and greasing the work table, in case the machine is not used for several days, to avoid its rust.
  3. Check the coolant level in the coolant, using the coolant recommended by ELITE: SintoCut MIX for steel and ELITE SintoCut PRO MIX for steel + tungsten carbide. The coolant level must be between 2 and 8%. If it is below this level, it can lead to oxidation of mechanical parts and if the level is higher, it can be toxic.
  4. Periodically, the sludge with chips that is deposited both in the work area and in the coolant tank must be emptied.
  5. Keeping the machine clean and in good condition will allow optimal use in the long term.

Use the equipment only in dry environments. The temperature must be between 5 and 40ºC. A relative humidity greater than 90%, as well as a saline environment, would cause premature corrosion of the machine.

To lubricate the pneumatic circuit we recommend using Esso Spinesso oil
